run your CraftBeerPi v4.0 in Kiosk-mode

To start your CraftBeerPi v4.0 in Kiosk-mode means you start the Pi and it will only display your dashboard in Fullscreen mode, you can’t really start any other Program, just connect remote with ssh to make and changes.

Here we go:

The Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment, or short LXDE, is a Desktop for Raspberry Pi all benefits with a optimized graphical User Interface.

-set kiosk mode-

Backup the File to modify first:
go to /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/ directory and copy the autostart file!

then run the following command:

sudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart

This will enable the LXDE-pi Desktop and opens a File:

Now we have to modify the file to get it work:

Please copy the Content of the file first, if you like to get back, you need a backup ;-), or make a copy of the File!!!

@pcmanfm --desktop --profile LXDE
@xset s off
@xset -dpms
@xset s noblank
@sed -i 's/"exited_cleanly": false/"exited_cleanly": true/' ~/.config/chromium/Default/Preferences
@chromium --noerrdialogs --kiosk http://localhost:8000 --incognito
@cbpi start

just delete all the lines, that already exist and past the Lines above in your session.
The last two commands, starts the Browser in full viewmode and also starts the CraftbeerPi Service.

To exit the File with save, use:

„ctrl & X“ on your Windows Computer
then type „y“
and press „enter“

Now reboot your Pi and it will start automaticly in Browser Full View Mode and also start the CBPi service and display the Dashboard after a few seconds

sudo reboot
